ESPN Fantasy Rugby 2017 Terms of Play
1. SPONSOR; PROMOTERS
The Game is operated by ESPN Sports Media Limited ('ESPN;) and GFM Clevergames (the 'Promoter'). Any advertisers associated with the Game, if any, shall be deemed a Promoter for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions.
The Game is open to legal residents of the United Kingdom and all countries where the Game is not prohibited or unlawful, who are eighteen (18) years or older as of the date of entry (or such higher age as is required in accordance with the laws of your country), and are registered members of ESPN.co.uk/rugby. Registration is free and is further described below). The following are not eligible for the Game: (i) employees and agents of ESPN and the Promoter and their respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, and each of their respective advertising/promotion agencies, and anyone involved in the organisation and running of the Game; and (ii) the 'immediate family members' of any of the persons set forth in (i) above. 'Immediate family members' shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings or spouses. Participation in the Game constitutes Entrants' full and unconditional agreement to these Terms and Conditions and to ESPN and the Promoter's decisions. The decisions of ESPN and the Promoter regarding all matters relating to the Game are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. From all eligible entries received, the winners will be determined based on their ability to accumulate the most points in the Game. The Game is void where prohibited or restricted by law and subject to all applicable local, state, federal and municipal regulations.
3. ENTRY PAGE
To access and/or enter the Game, log on to fantasyrugby.espn.com (the 'Website') during the Promotion Period and complete your entry by clicking on the 'Create Entry' button and completing the entry form.
To play the Game, Entrants must be a registered member of ESPN. Registration is free.
Not yet a Member? You can sign up for an ESPN.co.uk account by clicking 'Log In' and following the on-screen instructions. You will be asked to provide your e-mail address, name, birth date and gender, and to select a password. You will also be asked if you wish to receive promotional emails or offers. You do not need to consent to receive these emails or offers in order to become a member. Even if you consent, you may subsequently opt-out of receiving such emails or offers by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' link on the emails.
Please note that even if you played ESPN Fantasy Rugby 2016, you will need to log-in to your ESPN.co.uk account, or create a new one if you are not an ESPN.co.uk member, in order to play ESPN Fantasy Rugby 2017.
Promotional Email. You may be asked to answer survey questions or to consent to receive promotional emails or offers. This is optional. You are not required to answer questions or to give consent to receive such emails or offers in order to be eligible to play in the Game.
Password. You are responsible for the security of your password. ESPN, Promoter and any other third parties are not responsible or liable for any actions taken using your password.
5. PERSONAL INFORMATION
Registration for the Game begins on 19 January 2017 at 12:00 GMT. The Game begins on 4th February 2017 at 14:25 GMT (the scheduled first match of the Six Nations) and ends at approximately 19:00 GMT on 17th March 2017 (the 'Promotion Period'). Any team entries received after 14:25 GMT on 4th February 2017 will score points from the start of the following round.
7. HOW TO PLAY THE GAME
General. The objective of the Game is to accumulate the most points (see 'Scoring' below) over the course of the Promotion Period. Entrants must select their fantasy team from the player list. Each entrant may select one or two teams. Each fantasy team must consist of 15 (fifteen) players, making sure each team has up to a maximum of 4 (four) players from any one nation and the correct number of players in each position (see 'Roster' below).
How to make your selections: you may enter your selections online by following the instructions in the How to Play section of the game. To score points for a match, selections must be submitted prior to the first scheduled kick-off of a round. Player points scored from matches played earlier in the tournament will not be added retrospectively.
Roster: in order to have a valid roster your team must consist of the following number of players from each roster slot:
3 (three) Front-Row Forwards
2 (two) Second-Row Forwards
3 (three) Back-Row Forward
1 (one) Scrum-Half
1 (one) Fly-Half
2 (two) Centres
3 (three) Outside Backs
Note: You can select up to 4 (four) players from any one nation in each team.
Player List: The players included on the player list and their positional classifications have been determined by ESPN and the Promoter. Neither party will enter into any correspondence relating to details of the player list, nor will they accept the inclusion into a team of any player not on the published list, although players may be added during the competition.
Team Changes: Entrants can make unlimited transfers prior to the first match of the tournament. During the tournament, entrants can make three free transfers between each round. Additional transfers can be made for a cost of two points per additional transfer. Unused free transfers do not roll over.
When making multiple team changes which involve your current kicker, please note that it may not necessarily be the case that your required incoming kicker will automatically replace the outgoing kicker. In such instances, a subsequent kicker change is required.
Team Names: ESPN and the Promoter reserve the right to refuse to accept team names that are felt in its sole opinion to be inappropriate or offensive. Unsuitable names will be deleted and the team will appear under the Entrant's name.
Scoring Points. Entrants will score points as follows:
Postponed Matches: In the event that a match is postponed and subsequently re-arranged, points will be assigned as per the team selections as of the initial (postponed) game and points will be attributed to the original Game Round.
Umpires and Referees: The decision of the professional tournament officials responsible for officiating the games is final and binding regarding the outcome and scoring of each match. The decision on the Man of the Match is made by the host broadcaster (BBC.co.uk, FR2.fr, DMAX.it, RTE.ie, ITV.com, S4C.com) and is final and binding.
Accuracy: ESPN and the Promoters will make all reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of the Game information on the Website and to update such information on a regular basis, but do not guarantee that such information will be accurate or up-to-date at all times.

* Assist: The player providing the 'last pass' before a try is scored is awarded three points for an assist. This can only be in the form of a thrown pass or a kick by a member of the same team, which reaches the try scorer without significant intervention from a member of the opposing team. No assist will be awarded for a pushover try directly from a scrum, or indeed any situation where there is not an obvious 'last pass'. Hence, there is also no assist if the try scorer picks up the ball from the ground or directly from the hands of a team-mate. An assist will only be awarded for a penalty try if a try is prevented due to an offence on an individual player to prevent a try, in which case the player fouled will gain the assist. In all cases, the decision of ESPN and the Promoter is final.
8. NO ENTRY FEE
There is no entry fee required to participate in the Game. Only entries received online in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be accepted. No other forms of entry will be accepted. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.
9. TWO ENTRIES PER PERSON
A user may enter a maximum of two entries into the game (regardless of the number of email addresses or registered member accounts) or 'team teams per email address' (regardless of whether more than one person uses the same email address) will be enforced and will result in any supected multiple entrants, in the sole opinion of ESPN and the Promoter, having all teams removed from the game.
10. CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY
Entries correctly submitted via the Website will result in an acceptance message on the Website (which Entrants are advised to print out and keep) confirming the Entrant's email address, password and team name and these details will be confirmed to the Entrant by email.
The manager of the team that finishes in 1st place at the end of the tournament will win a 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina display.
During each individual matchweek (five in total) the manager of the team that scores the most points will win a Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker.
Gillette League Winner
Managers may enter their team in the official Gillette league.
The manager who finishes in 1st place in the official Gillette league at the end of the tournament will win a signed Lions tour shirt as well as a years' worth of shaving products from Gillette.
The Lions shirts will be available for delivery after May 8th
The shaving prize will consist of: 2 x ProShield Razors, 1 x 8 pack of ProShield blades and 1 x 4 pack of ProShield blades, 2 x 2in1 ProGlide prep
Prize Notification: Winners will be notified via email sent within 72 (seventy-two) hours following the end of the Promotion Period. It is the sole responsibility of the Entrant to notify ESPN during the Promotion Period if his or her e-mail address has changed. To do so, click on the 'Contact Us' link on the Website, then follow the instructions. All winners are required to co-operate with ESPN and the Promoter to publicise their win as ESPN deems appropriate. Failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification of the entry. Prizes will be awarded in accordance with the details set out above and in the Prizes Page, as amended from time to time.
Substitution; Taxes. No cash or other prize substitution, assignment or transfer of prizes permitted, except at ESPN and/or the Promoter's sole discretion due to prize unavailability. ESPN and/or the Promoter reserve the right to substitute a prize with one of comparable value or greater value. THE WINNER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL LOCAL, FEDERAL AND STATE TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE. Prizes awarded in the form of gift cards can only be used for future purchases at the location stated on the gift card. Gift cards are NOT redeemable/exchangeable for cash. Other restrictions may apply.
Prize Delivery. Prize winners should allow up to 28 days following confirmation to receive their prize.
No Warranty. Entrants acknowledge that the Promoter and each of its respective agencies or related companies have not made nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality. The terms and conditions of any third party supplier may apply to a prize as indicated.
Eligibility. Only Entrants who are entitled under local laws to receive a prize and who reside in countries where the Game is not prohibited or restricted by law will be eligible to win a prize. ESPN reserves the right to request proof of identity and/or to verify eligibility conditions before awarding any prize.
12. ENTRY ERRORS/NO RETURN OF ENTRIES; DISPUTES
Neither ESPN nor the Promoter are responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified. Neither ESPN nor the Promoter are responsible for any unavailability of or interruptions to any service or equipment used in connection with the Game, including, without limitation, (1) interruptions to any network, server, Internet, website, telephone, satellite, computer or other connections (2) failures of any telephone, satellite, hardware, software or other equipment, (3) garbled, misdirected or jumbled transmissions, or traffic congestion, or (4) other errors of any kind, whether human, technical, mechanical or electronic, or (5) the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information or the failure to capture any such information. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of ESPN and the Promoter and will not be acknowledged or returned. The promoter's computer record of the entry will be considered to be the official entry. In the event of a dispute as to any entry, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant. Potential winners may be required to show proof of identification. Either ESPN or the Promoter may require that the potential winner provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address and/or password associated with the winning entry. A potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be selected (i.e., the next highest scorer) if he/she does not comply with these rules (or is otherwise determined to be ineligible). ESPN and the Promoters accept no responsibility whatsoever for anything that may be published on a Private League bulletin board.
13. PRIZE CONFIRMATION AND ACCEPTANCE
If no response is received after the Promoter has made reasonable efforts to make contact and within a reasonable period of time, or a winner declines to accept the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw prize entitlement and award the prize to the next highest scorer. Any prize which is returned or cannot be delivered may be used for another competition or given to charity. Neither the Promoter nor ESPN will have any responsibility to anyone who has not responded. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Winners are solely responsible for any and all expenses, relative to participation in the Game (including acceptance of any prize) not specified herein.
14. PUBLICITY RELEASE
As a condition of receiving a prize, potential winners may be required to complete, sign and return a written release form and, except where prohibited, a publicity release. Except where prohibited, participation in the Game constitutes winner's consent to ESPN's and the Promoter's, and any of their respective agents' use of winner's name, likeness, voice, opinions and biographical information for publicity, advertising, trade or promotional purposes in any media or manner, now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, without further payment, consideration, notice or approval.
15. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to these Terms and Conditions and to the Promoter's decisions. The decisions of the Promoter in regards to all matters of the Game are final and binding.
16. CANCELLATION OR DISQUALIFICATION
a. ESPN and the Promoter reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate, and/or suspend the Game and to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, violates these Terms and Conditions, or acts in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner which contravenes the spirit of the Game. Without limiting the foregoing, ESPN and/or the Promoter may lock out an Entrant who, in their sole judgment, has been disqualified, has questionable eligibility or is otherwise ineligible to enter.
b. Without limiting the foregoing, ESPN and/or the Promoter may modify, cancel, terminate, and/or suspend the Game if, in the sole opinion of the Promoter and/or ESPN, an incident of any kind occurs to corrupt or impair the administration, security, integrity, fairness or play (as intended) of the Game, including without limitation: (a) viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or technical failure; or (b) earthquake, flood, fire, storm or other natural disaster, act of God; or (c) labour controversy or threat thereof, civil disturbance or commotion, disruption of the public markets, war or armed conflict (whether or not officially declared). In the event that the Rugby World Cup is postponed, terminated early, or cancelled for any reason (such as a strike or lockout), ESPN and/or the Promoter reserve the right to award prizes based on scores at the time the tournament is disrupted, or to cancel, modify or suspend the Game at its discretion. In the event of a cancellation or termination by ESPN or the Promoter, the Entrant who has accumulated the highest point total (and who wins any pending tiebreakers) at the time of any said action will be awarded the prizes, or the prizes will be awarded in such other manner deemed fair and appropriate by the Promoter.
17. GAMBLING PROHIBITION
This Promotion is strictly for entertainment purposes and may not be used in connection with any form of gambling.
18. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
ESPN and the Promoter do not make any representation, warranty or guarantee, express or implied, relating to the Game or prizes, and are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment, hardware, software or programming associated or used with the Game; (2) technical errors, defects, delays or failures of any kind, including without limitation malfunctions, interruptions or disconnections in communications lines, Internet or website access, hardware or software; (3) digital or electronic disruptions, e.g., viruses; (4) unauthorized human intervention, e.g., hacking; (5) technical or human error which may occur in connection with any aspect of the Promotion; (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Promotion, access to, copying or downloading materials from the Website or any other website, or receipt or use of any prize. Entrants' legal rights as consumers are not affected.
19. EMAIL SAFETY
In the event that ESPN wishes to contact Entrants in connection with their entries, contact will be via an email ending in 'espn.com', 'espn.co.uk' or by phone with a follow up e-mail. Any email which appears to come from ESPN but using a different ending (e.g. hotmail.com, yahoo.com etc) should be treated with suspicion and forwarded to ESPN Customer Services at email@example.com. Entrants should NOT respond or act on any e-mail if they are not sure that it comes from ESPN or from the Promoter.
20. WINNERS LISTS; COPYRIGHT
For information regarding the names of the winner(s) send a stamped addressed envelope to the Customer Services address at ESPN Sports Media Limited, 3 Queen Caroline Street, London W6 9PE, quoting 'Winners List' and the name of the competition. The rules, point structure and assist awards scheme are all the copyright of the Promoter. No information may be reproduced in any format without prior written consent from the Promoter.
